dad popped out again in February and Allan and the boys all took him to Fredricksburg to the Nimitz museum. Fun was had by all, although the boys go around it quickly, they will keep going around it, so visitors can enjoy it, just not with A and B at there side. a little disconcerting at times. They then went off and ate as dad was hungry and enjoyed a fun day out.
Fredricksburg is one of my favourite places, great shops, a lovely boardwalk, so much character and it feels alive, I just love taking people there. On this occasion i did not go as I was hosting a Stampin'Up event, so I got the peace and quiet of Austin

The men removing a dead tree
The boys had to stay on the decking..out of the way..good reason to eat brownies( Cara makes the best) and cheer the older generations on..we now have more logs for our fire place and no worries about the tree coming down at an inopportune moment.

More on dad's visit
dad only came out for a short visit, but long enough as he had just had a hip replaced 7 weeks earlier..our pool was great for his physio the sight seeing hard on the hip..hopefully the grandchildren good for the soul.
I took him down to the Alamo, in San Antonio, we went to the Capitol in Austin, had a variety of foods, saw the bats by boat under Congress bridge and he bought himself a stetson and cowboy boots..here are some photo's from that visit.
We also went to a Crawfish boil at our old house with Connie and Mark, and our old neighbours, which was fun.

Dad has arrived
Good morning world, it is a lovely morning here in Texas, and Ben and I are sitting on the decking enjoying the early morning..why do children get up earlier on the weekend than school days...one of those mysteries of life!!
dad arrived yesterday, he came via Atlanta to Austin, we have had Houston, Chicago, Toronto and Minnesota( Fran if you read this, do correct me if you did not change there..getting old, poor memory).
Anyway, back to dad, he had a good journey, enjoyed the banter with the Home land security and arrived early in Austin, we went home and had a bowl of SpagBol, wine and a wander arrived the garden, before dad decided that 24 hours was enough for one day!!!
Today we are having lunch at The Saltlick , so I will post photo later of dad's first real day, he has promised to go in the pool as well, last night as Alex and Ben cooled off in the pool, yelling 'come on granddad'...so he had to promise he would go in the pool today...photo's of him and the boys will follow.
