Beths party

So Beth had a Hula birthday and Cara and I made the cake, it was meant to be Diana's back garden with the kids at the party. here are some pictures to show you.
This one has the hula girls and there beagle dog in a Hula skirt as well.

I've finished my last cake course with Wilton's

Last night was the end of my cake courses with Wilton's, so now I just need to practice, practice and then practice a bit more. I have made friends and enjoyed going out each week for the courses, but will enjoy also not having all these cakes around the house, sending Allan off to work with them or taking them down to the school campus for the teachers. We are caked out in this house I think, although I am sure not for long.

My Wilton cake course No.2

I have just finished my course 2, this was all about making flowers out of royal icing and colour flow, so the only cake we made was this end one, so you have not had many pictures recently.

A new cake

This is a cake decorated with a variety of gum paste and fondant decorations. I did hem my drape by the way, even in cake decorating you need to be particular.

I've finished course one

Today was the final lesson in course 1, next week I am starting Gum paste and fondant. The cakes are ending up at ARM as I have managed the impossible and made them fed up of cake in this house, although Ben liked eating my pure icing roses this week if I rejected them. He has his fathers sweet tooth, it is safe to say.

I have been indulging myself with cake decorating courses and thought that would be another item of interest for some of you, so I will post pictures of my cakes etc each week, so you can see what I am up to.
