Jack will be driving soon.. Staying in UK could be a good option

So we have finally gone and done it.. Jack starts his driving next week.. He could have started last May when he turned 15, but for some reason I have not managed to sort all the paperwork out. Been hasseled enough now and he starts next Monday. He is having lessons but in Texas the test is not that arduous so we will have to see what transpires... Luckily Allan has a deep well of patience all ready for him driving with us as well... At 16 he is free... Oh boy.. The joys of living in a different country, he can not drink Alcohol until 21 but he can drive earlier.. Actually he can drink alcohol but Allan or I have to be present, he can notbuy it until 21... Of course you can marry younger than that, die for your country but not buy a beer.. Querky world we live in.

Inside activities

Lots to look at, been to three theatres, seen live footage of ISS now and a live show with a mock up of inside the space station... How they strap themselves into sleep, wash, toilet, eat.. Been a great day... Allan and I are exhausted now to hope they sleep all the way home...

It is an amazing site.. Alex and Ben now want to build a Lego one..... I think I will come and work here doing health and


safety.... That would be so fantastic... Always loved space and everything to do with it.. Boys are having a great time today.. Luckily we have 9 hours here, can't see us leaving early!!

Actually it is ending

Mardi Gras ends on Tuesday.. Shrove Tuesday to us, the filling yourself up with loads of food before lent.... Turned into parades, parties and carnivals... Then Ash Wednesday comes and I will remember Galveston !!!

It's Mardi Gras in Galveston... This made me smile... Maybe the wine helped... But the food was great and now we will walk the seafront back to our hotel... Which is not so great!!!!

About to have shrimp kisses followed by blackened catfish withcrab drugging and catfish étouffée ... What will Allan have.. Oh he is so good he has let me chose his dish.. We are sharing . So it is swordfish meeko as well.. And we have 36 flovours of ice cream to chose from for dessert...

On our way to see the Houston space centre

This is the younger two nearly three hours into the journey... Kids, cars and journey.... Through the ages it is well known they do not mix well... Heading for Galveston to stay for the night . They love hotels and are excited. Although it is on the beach and it is not warm... We are building sand castles apparently... Will let you all know.
